Ubifrance Canada is organizing a Trade Delegation in the Music Industry on the occasion of the annual ‘Rencontres de l’ADISQ’ one of the major francophone musical events in Québec and Canada. Organized in collaboration with the ADISQ (Association Québécoise de l’Industrie du Disque, du Spectacle et de la video) the visit will take place from the 3 rd to the 5 th of April 2012 and the delegates will travel to Montreal as well as to Toronto in order discover the new upcoming trends in the Canadian music industry. B2B meetings with local Canadian companies will also be organized on this occasion. An event not to be missed !

Ubifrance Canada for the second year in a row organized a delegation of 6 companies offering innovative solutions designed to improve the quality of care for the aging population and people living with a disability.
For this second trade mission, the delegates attended the Festival of International Conferences on Caregiving, Disability, Aging and Technology in Toronto. They also had the opportunity to tour the new lab facilities of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and meet one-on-one with potential business partners.
In Montreal, a customized seminar was organized for the participating companies and involved the following organizations from Quebec: the Association québécoise d’établissements de santé et de services sociaux (AQESSS) that represents 133 health-related public institutions, FADOQ (Quebec Federation of Senior Citizens) and SEDNA Group who offers long-term care services, specialized medical and nursing services.
In both Ontario and Quebec, Ubifrance Canada organized individual meetings for each of the 6 participating companies to identify potential business partners.

After 18 months of close cooperation with Loblaws, the largest supermarket chain in Canada, Ubifrance Canada has organised on April 26 and 27 a trade mission for 16 French vendors of various products, from frozen canapés and escargots, to mustards and cookies. They have participated in the first “LCL Offshore Innovation Show” in Brampton, Ontario. The show has welcomed in total 33 companies from France, Italy, Chili, New Zealand, Switzerland and Germany. It was a great opportunity for the French companies and their international competitors to meet with the private label teams directly at their main office. Ubifrance Canada will work together with Loblaws in the coming months to improve and optimise the format.

Ubifrance and the French Trade Commissions in Canada hosted for the 2 nd time a delegation of 6 French Oil & Gas suppliers & service companies (BOUYGUES BUILDING, COREAU, CV ASSOCIÉS, OSEAD HYDROCARBON TECHNOLOGIES, PCM et VAN BEEST France) at GO EXPO 2011, the #1 Oil & Gas on-shore event in North America in 2011. During the 3 days of the show they had the opportunity to showcase their products, services & know-how, meet key players of the Oil & Gas industry, and develop business partnerships with local clients, distributors or partners.

Ottawa, 16-18 May: after a 1 st successful participation in 2010, it was obvious that the French Trade Commission (Ubifrance) in Canada would raise a new delegation of French Photonic Cies to attend Photonics North, the main conference in photonics in Canada, in 2011!
Then, these are not less than eight companies interested in developing their activities in Canada which attended the event this year.
For 3 days, Ixfiber, Microcertec, RSA Le Rubis, Photline, Idil, Perfos Teem photonics and Vectrawave have got the opportunity to exhibit their technologies, products or services, at the exhibition space.
The French companies followed a four-day program held in 2 stages:
- 3 days in Ottawa, including individuals B2B meetings with potential partners, visit of the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) and the participation at Photonics North where additional pre-targeted meetings as well as networking through the Ubifrance booth made contacts easier, allowing the French delegation to enhance their visibility all along the expo. Access to technical sessions at OFS21 was also included.
- 1 day in Montréal, where an additional session of B2B and visits of sites (IMI-NRC and EMT-INRS Research Institute) took place.

The 12th of April, the Vancouver Fashion Week celebrated its 10th anniversary during the Fall/Winter 2011 Opening Gala at the Sutton Place Hotel in Downtown Vancouver.
The Vancouver Fashion Week is one of the West Coast biggest fashion event. All the fashion scene, designers, more than 50 buyers, media and fashion lovers gathered to view many local and international designs. This season, VFW has showcased many international designers from China, Korea, the Netherlands, France and the UK alongside established local and emerging designers. For the first time, a French brand, Autobiographie, attended this event. One of its designer, Nazafarin Sadat Akhavi, was at the Opening Gala to show some of her beautiful Fall/Winter 2011 creations, before the official fashion show which was the Saturday 16 th April.
During five days, all the fashion shows took place at the Empire Landmark Hotel, in downtown Vancouver.
Year after year, the Vancouver Fashion Week is gaining more importance. It’s a key event to make a brand known to the Canadian market and to the Asian market as well. Twice a year, designers and buyers from East to West can connect at this event, and do business. With its location on the Pacific Rim, Vancouver is a perfect place for such a multicultural and trendy show.
