Ubifrance Canada is organizing a Trade Delegation in the Music Industry on the occasion of the annual ‘Rencontres de l’ADISQ’ one of the major francophone musical events in Québec and Canada. Organized in collaboration with the ADISQ (Association Québécoise de l’Industrie du Disque, du Spectacle et de la video) the visit will take place from the 3 rd to the 5 th of April 2012 and the delegates will travel to Montreal as well as to Toronto in order discover the new upcoming trends in the Canadian music industry. B2B meetings with local Canadian companies will also be organized on this occasion. An event not to be missed !

UBIFRANCE Canada organized for the third consecutive year a trade delegation of twelve French IT firms with a focus on digital and interactive media technologies. The visit took place from the 28th to the 31st of March 2011 during which the companies got an opportunity to visit and discover the potential of the digital media industry in the Canadian IT hubs such as Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver.
More than 100 B2B meetings were organized with local companies in Montreal and in Toronto along with networking events in collaboration with local digital media and IT clusters such as the Allaince Numérique and the Québec Film and TV council in Montreal. A special seminar was also organized for the participating companies with a focus on the legal, taxation and incentives aspects of investment in the multimedia sector in Canada. The delegates also got an opportunity to visit and meet the interactive and digital media team from Radio Canada, a leading French language channel based in Montreal.
In Toronto the Interactive Ontario welcomed the trade delegation on the occasion of one of its networking events, the I-Lunch which took place during a seminar on the new concept of ‘gamification’ presented by author and game based marketing specialist Mr. Gabe Zichermann. The final day of the visit in Toronto was dedicated exclusively to business meetings.

March 7-11, 2011: Ubifrance & the French Trade Commission in Canada have organized a "Focus on France", allowing ten French Companies in the music industry and their artists to attend professional meetings and concerts during the 13 th edition of the Canadian Music Week.
In 29 years, CMW has become a major music festivals and markets in North America, catching more than 2,000 professionals, 3,500 artists, 650 journalists, 800 live bands and an audience of 100,000 people throughout the city of Toronto during 5 days. Outside of music programming ("Canadian Music Fest), CMW also organizes conferences, thematic discussions, ceremonies, meetings between Canadian and international professionals.
The French delegation, including labels, bookers, festival programmers (Atmosphériques, A Gauche de la lune, MaMA Event etc...) has benefited from exposure offered by the festival after a stop in Montreal where B2B appointments have also been organized.
Moreover, Companies have participated at a French-Canadian panel and numerous appointments with local professionals in the music industry while the CMW, with the purpose to export their artists but also to better understand the Canadian market reality .
In the meantime, eight French groups associated with these companies, occurred during the festival, especially during the “Focus on France” party organized with the support of the SCAC.

The French Trade Commissions in Canada, in collaboration with the French Music office and the Consulate General in Toronto, is organizing a Trade Mission during the Music industry’s main event in Canada: the Canadian Music Week from the 6th to the 10th of March 2011.
This year, the Canadian Music Week will have a Focus on France and we are taking this opportunity to bring to Canada a delegation of 10 French companies from the music industry (labels, agents, producers, festivals...).
This visit is an opportunity for the French Music industry to discover and develop business and partnerships in Canada by meeting with Canadian Labels, Artist Managers and other professionals of the industry. This Focus on France will also be a good opportunity to know more about the French music industry during panel discussions to be held at the CMW followed by a networking cocktail. This session will be followed by an exclusive Showcase highlighting the performance of six French bands at the Rivoli in Toronto on the 10 th of March at 8 pm.
The delegation will also spend 2 days in Quebec to allow the participants to explore the opportunities of this specific market through a panel and business meetings organized in partnership with the ADISQ.

HOT DOCS is a documentary festival taking place in Toronto from April 29 until May 9.
For the first time, a delegation of eleven French producers of documentary films was at Hot Docs for the 2010 edition. They had also the chance to visit Montreal to meet with local producers and commissioning editors thanks to a partnership with SODEC.
This mission, labeled by Ubifrance, is co-organized by iconoval, the Alsace Image Cluster and the regional Chamber of Commerce Alsace-Export thanks to the financial support of Ubifrance.
A whole week was enough time to get some contacts with local partners, meet Canadian, American, but also European producers.The French producers attended collective presentations and a networking cocktail and were able to meet with Telefilm Canada, Radio Canada,National Film Board, TFO, CanWest, WNED and CBC Radio Canada.
