Nine French companies from the ports logistics sector participated in a discovery mission for the port market of Singapore and Malaysia from 26 to 30 September 2011. During these five days, the companies were able to better understand the two diverse markets through country presentations, meetings with port authorities as well as 5 ports in the region, namely: PSA and Jurong Port in Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas, Tanjung Langsat and Johor Port in Malaysia.
The participation by a pole of competitiveness, Novalog, specialised in the development of innovative technology applied to the technology sector. This allowed it to identify several common issues and research topics which eventually will emerge as collaboration between the different French and Singaporean/Malaysian institutions.
The success of this event highlights the potential of the port logistics sector in these two countries, of which the French know-how and capabilities may be harnessed.
