Info 1
The Trade Commission-Ubifrance in Singapore, in partnership with the local section of the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS), is organizing:
The 1st V.I.E FORUM on the 10th of June, 2011 in the French Embassy
The Volunteer for International Experience (V.I.E) is an alternative solution for additional headcount in companies. The V.I.E enables French companies to host a French young professional between 18 to 28 years of age on a working assignment.
During the forum, you will have the opportunity to meet and identify potential candidates, all motivated graduates from the top schools in Europe, locally. These candidates possess technical knowledge difficult to find in the local market, are bilingual in French and English, therefore can serve as the communication bridge.
This forum is in addition to the usual recruitment process of your company. It allows you take a look at the French talent present in Singapore and eventually bring forward a candidate shortlisted by you.
Furthermore, this forum is free and doesn’t oblige you to hire the identified candidate.
Previewed program:
4pm: Introduction and presentation about the Volunteer for International Experience from the Director of Ubifrance in Singapore, Mr. Michel Cywinski in the French Embassy
4.15 – 6.15pm: Interviews with the different candidates (with yourself or one of your colleagues) in the French Embassy
6.15pm: Transfer to the Residence
6.30pm: Cocktail with the business community
If you would like to know more about this event, the Volunteer for International Experience in general, or about the grants allocated by the regions in France, please contact :

New technologies, innovation and service
Electronic and Computer
2011 will probably be a year of world domination for smartphones and tablets in the consumer electronics area. Sensors, captors, MEMS have created new benefits and new opportunities to create a true revolution in the way these devices inform, assist, and entertain us daily. The demand is set to rocket this year and will probably confirm the recovered vitality of the semiconductors market. This industry is still very big in Singapore and the production in the city-state accounts for more than 10% of the world production.
SEMICON Singapore is the most important semiconductors business event in Asia for 15 years. In average, more than 300 exhibiting companies and 10000 visitors from more than 30 countries attend this specialist gathering, to inform themselves about latest technologies, trends and projects that design the future of the semiconductor and solar industries.
For this 2011 edition, we will change slightly our event format and will showcase French companies through mini-desks, along with informal meeting points on our Ubifrance space on the exhibition floor. Our visiting companies will also benefit from a program of targeted business meetings organized by us prior to the event. The first confirmations of attending companies will be posted here shortly.
For all your enquiries, please contact: Thibaut.humbert@ubifrance.fr

New technologies, innovation and service
Electronic and Computer
In today’s world of mobility and connectivity, smart cards have really proven their benefits to a whole range of industries with as many potential uses as one could invent. With new standards such as NFC, called to revolutionize the way we exchange data, both for personal and professional applications, smart cards technologies have reached a level of maturity that is about to take a fresh new start with a lot of recent innovations and new challenges to power its renewal.
We are quite proud to say that smart cards have been a national specialty industry since the chip card invention by Frenchman Roland Moreno in 1974. Today, the ecosystem of cards manufacturer in our country is taking technology further and Ubifrance will be proud to showcase some of these inventive companies on our French pavilion on this 2011 edition of Cards Asia, held 13-15 April at Suntec, Singapore.
This event is very strategic as a business and technology opportunity in the APAC region, with major banks, RFID and Retail solutions vendors attending the 3-day long gathering. Our French companies will be exhibiting their products, technologies and solutions on their own booth within our space and also benefit from a program of targeted and pre-arranged business meetings.
As of 31st of January, confirmed companies on the French pavilion are:
Trusted Logic: www. trusted - logic .com
Hologram Industries: www. hologram-industries.com
Keynectis: www.keynectis.com
Serma Technologies: http://www.serma-technologies.com/en
If you wish to secure a meeting with one or more of these companies, please contact: thibaut.humbert@ubifrance.fr
