Beauty Rendez-Vous 2011

http://www.blog-export.fr/BlogDetails.aspx?pi=4126

Three French companies recently participated in “Beauty Rendez-Vous”, a beauty showcase organised by the French Trade Commission Ubifrance in Singapore that enabled the companies to feature their skin and hair care brands in an intimate yet professional hotel setting. Through a series of pre-organised B2B meetings tailored to the requirements of each French company, the French participants had the opportunity to meet individually with interested distributors, who were seen enthusiastically testing the product samples, asking questions and exchanging information. Both the French and local companies also appreciated the exclusivity of this by-invitation only trade event which translated to quality meetings between like-minded trade professionals.

The “Beauty Rendez-Vous” also included a seminar, a guided visit to prominent beauty retail sites and a networking dinner whereby the French companies had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the local authorities, trade association as well as other French comrades currently working in the local cosmetics sector.

At the end of the 2-day programme, the French participants went home with a fuller understanding of the local cosmetics industry as well as important contacts of potential business partners. Discussions are on-going following the individual B2B meetings between the French and local companies and we are confident that these will be fruitful.

The first edition of the “Beauty Rendez-Vous” has shown the interest of the local market for quality French products. We look forward to organising the next edition, so join us at the next rendezvous!

The First V.I.E Awards in Singapore

The French Trade Commission organized the first V.I.E (Volunteer for International Experience) Awards in Singapore in partnership with the local section of CCEF (French Foreign Trade Advisers) and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. The awards ceremony was held on June 16th in the French Residence with the Ambassador of France, Olivier Carron in the presence of one hundred representatives of the business community and several V.I.Es.

A jury auditioned 10 participants during the month of May and chose Mr. Yoann Gueguen as the winner. The former is a Business Development Manager for the company Lumiplan (intelligent transport solutions) and received round-trip ticket for Paris from Air France. Mr Gueguen will also have the privilege to represent Singapore at the regional V.I.E Awards which will be held during the ASEAN forum of the CCEF from 27 till 29 November.

We would like also congratulate Antoine Bouchacourt (Business Development Manager APAC for Netvizio) and Geoffrey Delahe (Brand Manager for Guy Dregrenne) who were both tied at 2nd place and Emilie Varral (Sales Forecaster for Legrand) who took the 3rd prize.

With its 182 volunteers working in 82 companies, Singapore is the 8th host country for V.I.E.s, more than half of them holding regional responsibilities.
