MobiWire cashes in with its Mobiprint³ terminal at Cartes Paris 2014

Marine Juillard - 04-nov.-2014 16:15:29
MobiWire will present Mobiprint3, the latest version of its transaction-processing terminal, at the Cartes Paris 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre (France). With almost 100,000 unit sales of the two previous generations of the product, MobiWire is proud to showcase its latest POS solution, which runs under Android OS. MobiWire, a recognised leader in the design, production and delivery of connected devices dedicated to cash and electronic transactions, is taking innovation a step further with Mobiprint3, its latest product. With a wide touchscreen, an Android OS, new sensors, high-performance battery life, and an ergonomic design, Mobiprint3 is the ideal POS terminal for distributors. MobiWire will present its new Mobiprint3 technology on Stand 4K028 at the Paris Cartes 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November of this year at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, north of the French capital. The Mobiprint3 design is based on a smartphone architecture (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, or HSPA), combined with a robust printer, which enables everyday transactions (cash collection, proof-of-purchase tickets, receipts, etc.) and POS data management. Adapted to, and designed primarily for, cash-payment regions in which banking services are hard to come by, Mobiprint3 replaces traditional bank accounts with cheaper mobile accounts that are particularly efficient for micro-payments. Mobiprint³ is indispensable in scenarios where physical proof of transaction is mandatory, such as air-time top-ups on mobile phones, money transfers from mobile accounts, mobile payments, and purchasing bus tickets with cash (or through an electronic transaction). About MobiWire MobiWire is a French-based manufacturer of mobile-telecommunications devices, which designs and delivers tailor-made, connected high-tech solutions on behalf of local and global players in the mobile-telecoms industry (including OEMs, mobile-telecoms operators and retailers) for the mass market, whilst also being adaptable to other markets.   MobiWire’s products match this dual-market approach since, on the one hand, the company produces smartphones that incorporate up-to-date consumer-market trends and technologies and, on the other, MobiWire is an expert in wireless-payment terminals, having successfully developed a range of mobile-payment devices dedicated to both cash and electronic transactions. MobiWire will be showcasing its products and technology on Stand 4K028 at the Paris Cartes 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November 2014 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, situated north of the French capital. Lucibel’s products in the spotlight at LuxLive 2014

Marine Juillard - 23-oct.-2014 16:16:48
Lucibel of France, a major player in the LED lighting sector, will be exhibiting its innovative solutions at the LuxLive trade show, which will take place at the ExCel exhibition centre in London (UK) from 19 to 20 November 2014. Lucibel will present its brand-new-generation LED panel and its new Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) concept designed for use in museums, galleries and showrooms. Lucibel, a specialist in the design and production of innovative lighting solutions based on Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology, will showcase two of its stand-out products at LuxLive 2014. The first is its brand-new-generation LED panel, which provides the best luminosity output to power consumption ratio on the market. This product offers unparalleled energy savings, outperforming similar products, and greatly increases the customer’s ROI. Lucibel will also present its new Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) concept designed for use in museums, galleries and showrooms. For the first time, Lucibel has combined Li-Fi technology with LED lighting to transform existing LED lighting elements into Li-Fi emitters that can then remotely transmit multimedia content (sound, video, geolocation, etc.) to a tablet or smartphone. Using an indoor geolocation application on a tablet device, visitors have direct and automatic access to interactive content corresponding to the object on display. This virtual guide gives traditional visits a whole new dimension, making them more natural and intuitive. Lucibel’s solution is an integral part of the LED lighting element and requires no additional infrastructure or energy consumption. It can be featured in multiple applications, and reflects the company’s ambition to offer more than a simple lighting function, allowing customers to benefit from the many opportunities proposed by LED technology. The multiple advantages of LEDs have made them the preferred technology for new lighting sources. LED lighting efficiency reduces energy consumption by up to 80% compared to traditional technologies, increases operating life by up to 20 times, and can be controlled remotely or programmed to interact with its surroundings. Further advantages of LED technology include its homogenous, flicker-free luminous flux, excellent colour rendering, immediate illumination, lack of sensitivity to on/off switching cycles, and a wide range of integration and customisation possibilities. The company develops and produces the majority of its products in its own factories in France, selecting the best components on the market and ensuring that technical aspects are constantly being improved. Lucibel focuses on the professional market segments in which its solutions contribute maximum added value to the customer, such as hotels and restaurants, offices and industry, public authorities, and retail. As well as guaranteeing technical performance and energy efficiency, Lucibel also designs specific solutions adapted to client specifications and whose benefits go beyond lighting functions alone. Such benefits include incomparable product or site enhancement to boost customer visits and sales activity, a quality of light that improves well-being and productivity of employees, intelligent management of light sources to optimise energy consumption, and new functionalities such as the transmission of wireless data to enrich visitor experience. Lucibel has a dedicated London-based team that works closely with clients on their projects, advising and informing them about relevant applicable standards and undertaking return on investment studies. The team can also carry out studies into lighting, 3D simulations, and thermal dissipation. About Lucibel Lucibel is an innovative French company that designs new-generation lighting products and solutions based on LED technology. In 2013, Lucibel generated a consolidated turnover of €21.5 million, versus €6.3 million in 2012, equating to an 87% increase on a like-for-like basis. The company markets its products in over 30 countries and has seven international subsidiaries across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with exports accounting for 24% of sales in 2013. Lucibel will be exhibiting its products and solutions at the LuxLive trade show, which will take place at the ExCel exhibition centre in London (UK) from 19 to 20 November 2014. VIRTUALDIVE is fully immersed at Dublin Web Summit 2014

Marine Juillard - 20-oct.-2014 17:34:31
VIRTUALDIVE of France, a start-up dedicated to the development of applications that allow internet users to discover and explore ocean depths,  will showcase its innovative technology at this year’s Dublin Web Summit, which will take place at the Royal Dublin Society in Ireland from 4 to 6 November 2014. VIRTUALDIVE is keen to meet potential investors as part of its strategy for international growth. VIRTUALDIVE has created the Ocean Connected project, which is an application that allows internet users to discover and explore ocean depths, in real-time, from their home computers, tablets or smart phones. The main objective of this global project is to overcome unawareness amongst the general public about the ocean and the vital role that it plays in the survival of life on earth. With new technologies linked to underwater robotics, virtual diving eliminates actual aquatic immersion, which is the main obstacle to traditional diving in terms of both risk and cost. Rather than being individual and secluded, virtual diving remains constantly connected with the external world and information sources. The project also adds value and offers new growth perspective to diving centres and the industry as a whole, which has been slow to adapt to a more digital environment. The Ocean Connected application is a technological breakthrough in the industry. The system links a connected and submersible mobile device, named Dolphyn, with a multisided web platform and dedicated applications, allowing two global networks to interact and generate revenue. On one side there are the underwater content producers (divers, snorkellers, yacht owners, marine reserves, etc.) and on the other are the content consumers (Internet users). For a minimal cost, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, any internet user will have the opportunity to follow a qualified diving instructor and interactively discover and study – through links to their social network – the hidden wonders of ocean. Currently, traditional diving activities are undertaken by just 0.4% of the population but, thanks to Ocean Connected, these activities now have the opportunity to attract the interest and attention of 2.5 billion internet users around the world. For the first time, a viable alternative is available to the millions of people that will never practice scuba diving but that are interested in the direct observation and knowledge of the subsea environment. This digital alternative combines virtual and augmented realities, geo caching, live video streaming, gaming, eLearning, cloud computing, and networking, to enrich the video images collected by professional divers and open up access to thousands of diving sites, coral reefs, marine reserves and historical wrecks.  VIRTUALDIVE successfully completed a six year R&D programme, which was financed by the Agence Nationale de Recherche (French National Research Agency), regional institutions and the European Commission (FP7262160). The proof of concept (POC) was approved and pre-serial industrial production was launched, leading to the first sales of the product. Usage will be closely monitored in order to gather information and feedback from customers and users.  The company, which is a family owned SME, will be exhibiting at the Dublin Web Summit 2014 and is looking to meet external investors. Fresh funds are required to enter the global market, supported by a strong digital marketing campaign and a consistent strategy for industrialisation. For the first round of funding, the company is looking for between €1.5 and €2 million over the course of 2015. These funds will be used to hire a team of executives that will manage the company during its development phase; to cover the marketing launch; to acquire the industrial technology systems; and to proceed with technical and technological improvements in line with market demand. The withdrawal of the first external investors is expected by 2020, with an investment multiplier of 10. About VIRTUALDIVE The founders of VIRTUALDIVE, Alain and Antonio Dinis are serial entrepreneurs and have over 50 years of international experience in the management of innovative technologies, combining their technical background with strong marketing competencies. They have been working together for more than 10 years and have assembled a team of five experts in different disciplines.  Furthermore, they are supported by four research laboratories and specialised SMEs that provide a platform for exponential growth of the project. Salience maps out collaborative working at Dublin Web Summit 2014

Marine Juillard - 20-oct.-2014 16:22:50
Salience, a French startup in the field of technology consulting, will present  FeatureMap, a unique online platform for simple and effective real-time collaboration, at this year’s Dublin Web Summit, which will take place at the Royal Dublin Society in Ireland from 4 to 6 November 2014. FeatureMap is a digital board (or map) on which the user can manipulate and organise cards containing ideas, tasks and projects. Users can then share their maps with colleagues, partners and customers, allowing interaction in real-time mode. As well as their position on the map, the cards embed additional information such as time attributes, ownership, quantitative data, comments, and a modifications log. Co-founder of Salience Tristan Thevenin says: “Our vision is to help people build better products and run more successful projects with the help of great software. We are passionate about how teams develop new products. Having listened to many different stories, we decided to create FeatureMap, in order to help great ideas to turn into real products. The team is dedicated to its customers and we are constantly developing FeatureMap to fit the needs of the user, enabling them to keep their projects even more simple, collaborative and visual.” In order to achieve goals, objectives need to be set out. Illustrations are the most powerful means to convey a message, but difficult to update. Words, on the other hand, can be moved but lack visual impact. FeatureMap enables users to make the most of both by building a project map, which gives a physical shape to the bigger picture, and harnessing the power and accuracy of words. FeatureMap is widely used by both small and large companies all around the world and Salience’s clients include AXA, Ford and Sony. It was developed by Salience to facilitate the missions of product managers, entrepreneurs, marketing managers and project managers. Moreover, based on visual concepts, FeatureMap enables users to collaborate, communicate and contribute efficiently to different projects whatever their location, language or role. FeatureMap is a flexible tool that enables users to define the best solution to bring maximum value to their customers. Whether users are accustomed to using methods such as Agile Marketing, Kanban or Story Mapping, FeatureMap can be adapted to fit a variety of approaches. About Salience Salience, which is headquartered in Troyes, is a French startup providing technological solutions in the consultancy field. Founded in 2011, the company was then designated Laureate in a French national contest for innovative companies in 2012. Salience’s FeatureMap solution was designed to facilitate collaborative working by grouping together ideas, tasks and projects on a digital map. Users have a clear and organised visibility of the whole project and are able to interact, communicate and contribute in real time, no matter their location. Players will compete against each other online using their own consoles and computers, and save their sessions once completed. Only 128 competitors may take part per week, per country and per game. There will be a maximum of 32 teams for multi-player games. The registration fee is $30 for a qualifying week and 40% of the funds collected (of which $12 will be withheld at source upon registration) will be paid as bonuses. At the end of the 29-week regular season, the winners will be invited to compete in the national finals, to be held in each country between 1 and 21 June 2015. The final rounds will be composed of 32 players in eight pools of four teams each, i.e. 29 winners, together with the best player of the regular season and two wildcards. The overall national winner in each country will be awarded a cheque for over $10,000 (as already mentioned). National champions will compete in the continental finals from 22 to 28 June 2015. One player per continent and per game will be crowned the continental champion and will receive a cheque for over $100,000 (as outlined above). All continental champions will compete in the World Cup Final to be held from 3 to 5 July 2015 at a prestigious venue in New York with all air fares and hotel costs covered by the organisers. The venue for the final will be announced by 1 January 2015. PELLENC ST installs another 23 waste-processing optical sorters in UK

Marine Juillard - 01-sept.-2014 16:50:15
PELLENC Selective Technologies (PELLENC ST) of France, a manufacturer of optical sorting machines for the processing of waste, has announced that it will supply 23 optical sorters (on stream from 2015) to equip four new facilities in the UK. The specialist company, which has considerably strengthened its presence on the British market, will showcase its latest solutions at the RWM trade show, to be held in Birmingham (England) from 16 to 18 September 2014. Following the company’s successful expansion into the British market, PELLENC Selective Technologies (or PELLENC ST) has announced that it will, once again, be an exhibitor (Stand 5R130) at the RWM trade show, which will take place at the NEC, in Birmingham (England), between 16 and 18 September of this year. PELLENC ST, a recognised specialist in its field, designs, manufactures and installs optical sorting machines for the recycling and processing of waste.   The contract to equip four new facilities in the UK, which will be in operation as of 2015, represents the strongest growth PELLENC ST has ever known on the British market, where its current installed stock is of about 80 units. The new facilities equipped with PELLENC ST optical sorters will all be dealing with Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).   The PELLENC ST systems will be used for two main purposes: first of all, to recover valuable materials from the stream (such as plastics) and, second, to monitor the quality of the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) fraction produced.   RDF monitoring units are attracting ever more interest in the UK as many large-scale Energy from Waste (EfW) projects have recently come to the fore. The current trend indicates that there is a bright future for this application in Britain. Thanks to experience gathered from its related work elsewhere in Europe, PELLENC ST has acquired proven expertise in this field and has been served, in this respect, by the high levels of accuracy that its technology achieves.   PELLENC ST has developed dedicated software programs in order to improve the monitoring of the sorting lines, which enables the company to better meet the specific needs of the municipal solid-waste market. In most cases, the waste is destined to be burnt and used as RDF: as a result, data about the quality of the stream — its humidity level or its degree of contamination, for example — is very useful.    The Lower Heating Value (LHV) should be monitored and should meet a range of parameters in order to ensure that the machine operates properly. Humidity is an important factor for the optimal operation of incineration plants. In fact, too much humidity not only leads to a potential drop in production, but can also activate fermentation in the storage of RDF — the ultimate risk being one of explosion and fire in the storage tank.   The final parameter to be considered is the level of chlorine in the RDF: the chlorine content is calculated on the basis of the volume of material containing PVC that is present — something that the machine is able to detect.   PELLENC ST proposes a solution with four groups of indicators that enables users to benefit from the performance of optical sorters and the data they produce. Optical sorters analyse the stream of waste passing through them, combining every available indicator: contaminants, energy, humidity, and stream.   The Statistic Pack, PELLENC ST’s new software suite, can be customised by selecting the most appropriate indicator for the sort configuration. With this pack, users can monitor even more closely the changes in waste types. Data is stored in files that are compatible with standard data-handling software and available over local networks using a web browser. On request, the teams at PELLENC ST are able to study the flow and fine-tune indicators in order to suit the product stream.   In addition, with a view to meeting specific measures introduced under the amended Environmental Permitting Regulations, the technologies developed by PELLENC ST offer not only complete monitoring of the waste stream, but also comprehensive monitoring of the sorted products. The software solution developed by PELLENC ST allows for improved recycling quality from Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs): this is essential to achieve high-quality recycling and makes sense from an economic, environmental and technical standpoint.   About PELLENC Selective Technologies (PELLENC ST)   Founded in 2001, PELLENC Selective Technologies (PELLENC ST) is headquartered in Pertuis, in the Lubéron region of South-Eastern France. The company opened a London office in 2011.   PELLENC ST is a pioneering company in the automatic sorting of household and industrial waste. The specialist company has a turnover of €21 million and employs over 100 staff, with 15% of all personnel working in the in-house R&D department. As part of its international expansion, PELLENC ST has installed over 1,000 of its machines in more than 45 countries across the world.   PELLENC ST will be at the RWM trade show (Stand 5R130), which will take place at the NEC, in Birmingham (UK), between 16 and 18 September 2014. RWM is the European event of reference for resource-efficiency solutions and the waste-management sector. Established in 1967, the trade fair is highly regarded in the recycling-and-waste industry as a leading event in its field.   For further information about the trade show, please go to:  www.rwmexhibition.com   For further information about the company, please go to: www.pellencst.com     For further information, please contact :   Quote ref. : FTPB 3940 Ms Kate RILEY - Press Officer UBIFRANCE Press Office in London Tel: +44 (0) 207 024 3640 kate.riley@ubifrance.fr View other press releases at : http://www.ubifrance.com/uk/
