Deco Party UK products include bunting, hand-held flags, hanging decorations, room decorations, street decorations, and table decorations for use in a variety of settings from birthdays, marriages and Christmas parties to concerts, nightclubs and sporting events. Also part of the range is a specially fireproofed silk paper, which is ideal for florists when wrapping bouquets of flowers, for wine merchants when packaging and protecting wine bottles, or simply for wrapping birthday and Christmas presents. Needless to say, Deco Party UK products are fully compliant with all regulations in the industry, including fire-prevention regulations, which is an obviously important point. Deco Party UK produces a large range of confetti in over 20 different colours and a variety of shapes including butterflies, hearts and rectangles. Carnival confetti and hand-held confetti guns are also available and are ideal for use at anniversaries, birthdays, sporting events, and weddings. Every weekend, three or four products in the Deco Party UK range are chosen to feature in a 15% discount promotional offer. Further information about this promotion can be found on the Deco Party UK Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/decopartyuk ). SIVAL, a leading European trade show for the crop-production sector, will be held from 13 to 15 January 2015 at the Angers Exhibition Centre, in Angers (Western France). As the foundation for Plants Week, this year’s show will once again be the key event in plant excellence for all sector professionals, welcoming more than 600 exhibitors and hosting a range of events. Plants Week consists of a week of events and conferences devoted to the plant sector, including Rencontres du Végétal (Plant Sector Meetings), the SIVAL trade show, the Vegepolys Symposium, and the new Vegepolys International Business Event (or VIBE). SIVAL will host several conferences, meetings and symposiums, whilst the SIVAL Forum will provide a platform for industry experts to give presentations on a variety of topics and address issues such as plant protection, evolving practices, and environmental, social and economic challenges. Vegepolys is a world-class cluster of excellence that brings together plant-sector professionals specialising in aromatic and perfumed plants, cider production, market gardening, medicinal plants, mushrooms, seeds, tobacco, tree farming, and winegrowing within the Pays de la Loire region. VIBE, the new event organised by Vegepolys, will take place on 12 and 13 January 2015, as part of the trade fair. This event is designed to bring together managers of innovative projects and international buyers, fostering dialogue during tours of the area and meetings with exhibitors and members of the Vegepolys cluster. The decision to host this event supports SIVAL’s strategy to establish itself internationally, both as Europe’s primary trade show for all plant production and as a leader in the fruit-and-vegetable sector. The SIVAL d’Or Contest, a competition to reward the most innovative projects in the field of plant-production techniques, is changing its name to the SIVAL Innovation Contest. From now on, this competition will incorporate a new Zoom Innovation (or Focus on Innovation) section, which will introduce candidates that have been preselected for the SIVAL Innovation Contest, as well as the winners of the Innovafood Contest, start-up companies in the plant sector, school and group projects, and more. Finally, the SIVAL Job Dating event will help to bring together applicants for jobs in the plant sector with the companies looking to fill the numerous vacancies that exist. Apart from the Vegepolys Symposium (already mentioned), meetings and conferences organised at the SIVAL trade show, next year, will include wine-tourism meetings organised by Interloire, the DEPHY-Ecophyto conference, the Euroviti symposium organised by the IFV, a Légumes de France conference, a conference on Winegrowing Engineering organised by ATV49meetings, and an Export/Market conference organised by the Anjou Winegrowing Federation and the region’s International Chamber of Commerce & Industry. A detailed programme, listing further events, will soon be available on the SIVAL website. Grand Prix VIE UK 2014 prize winners rewarded at French Embassy

Marine Juillard - 06-nov.-2014 17:17:18
Ms Sylvie Bermann, Ambassador of France to the United Kingdom, presented the prizes at the Grand Prix VIE UK 2014 awards ceremony, which took place on 4 November at her Residence in central London. This competition, which is now in its fifth year, was sponsored by the Committee of French Advisors for Foreign Trade in the UK (CCEF) and organised by the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in the UK. Ms Sylvie Bermann, French Ambassador to the United Kingdom, underlined the fact that the UK is, year on year, the third or fourth destination worldwide in terms of the number of young VIEs in post. Today, there are more than 700 VIEs employed in 215 companies throughout the country. The VIE Programme, which is run by French export-support agency UBIFRANCE, gives young graduates from across the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes all EU countries, the opportunity to spend up to two years on an assignment outside France, working for the local subsidiary of a French-based business. The young VIEs must be under the age of 28 and posted in a country other than their country of origin. The VIE programme offers a range of advantages to companies; through the scheme, companies are able to source talent and recruit future executives. The candidates for the Grand Prix VIE 2014 in the UK were asked to present the mission and the projects that had been assigned to them over the course of their contract. Each candidate submitted a written file and those who were shortlisted were asked to present their work to a jury, which then chose two overall winners. Olivier Morel, President of the Committee of French Advisors for Foreign Trade in the UK (CCEF), outlined the quality of the candidates, who all had an impressive array of competencies and showed initiative, creativity, enthusiasm and strength of character, making the final decision a difficult one for the members of the jury. Lauren Prigent, Risk Assessment Engineer at GDF SUEZ E&P UK, was awarded First Prize in the Large Corporates Category. In the same category, the jury decided to award a Special Mention Prize to Shairah Djouma of Sanofi UK. First Prize in the SME Category went to Andrea Ghezzi who, as part of his contract with the trade association for the promotion and development of mechanical industries in France, carried out commercial prospecting for three companies — AHG, Lathuille Hudry, and Mure et Peyrot. In the same category, the Special Mention Prize was awarded to Farah Cohen for her work at Amiral Holding, a French SME. Olivier Morel believes that the diversity of the assignments undertaken by the prize winners underlines the variety of projects entrusted to VIE employees. Other projects presented to the jury included risk analysis in hydrocarbon production, marketing in the health sector, commercial development for three SMEs in the mechanical sector, and the management of airport spas. Thanks to the generosity of the members of CCEF, as well as Air France, Brasserie Blanc, Cirque du Soleil and Renault Trucks, the winners also received a selection of prizes alongside their trophies. For further information about the VIE scheme and its advantages for both young graduates and the companies that employ them, please do not hesitate to contact Hervé Ochsenbein, Director of the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in the UK.   Hervé Ochsenbein, Director of the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in the UK

MobiWire cashes in with its Mobiprint³ terminal at Cartes Paris 2014

Marine Juillard - 04-nov.-2014 16:15:29
MobiWire will present Mobiprint3, the latest version of its transaction-processing terminal, at the Cartes Paris 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre (France). With almost 100,000 unit sales of the two previous generations of the product, MobiWire is proud to showcase its latest POS solution, which runs under Android OS. MobiWire, a recognised leader in the design, production and delivery of connected devices dedicated to cash and electronic transactions, is taking innovation a step further with Mobiprint3, its latest product. With a wide touchscreen, an Android OS, new sensors, high-performance battery life, and an ergonomic design, Mobiprint3 is the ideal POS terminal for distributors. MobiWire will present its new Mobiprint3 technology on Stand 4K028 at the Paris Cartes 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November of this year at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, north of the French capital. The Mobiprint3 design is based on a smartphone architecture (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, or HSPA), combined with a robust printer, which enables everyday transactions (cash collection, proof-of-purchase tickets, receipts, etc.) and POS data management. Adapted to, and designed primarily for, cash-payment regions in which banking services are hard to come by, Mobiprint3 replaces traditional bank accounts with cheaper mobile accounts that are particularly efficient for micro-payments. Mobiprint³ is indispensable in scenarios where physical proof of transaction is mandatory, such as air-time top-ups on mobile phones, money transfers from mobile accounts, mobile payments, and purchasing bus tickets with cash (or through an electronic transaction). About MobiWire MobiWire is a French-based manufacturer of mobile-telecommunications devices, which designs and delivers tailor-made, connected high-tech solutions on behalf of local and global players in the mobile-telecoms industry (including OEMs, mobile-telecoms operators and retailers) for the mass market, whilst also being adaptable to other markets.   MobiWire’s products match this dual-market approach since, on the one hand, the company produces smartphones that incorporate up-to-date consumer-market trends and technologies and, on the other, MobiWire is an expert in wireless-payment terminals, having successfully developed a range of mobile-payment devices dedicated to both cash and electronic transactions. MobiWire will be showcasing its products and technology on Stand 4K028 at the Paris Cartes 2014 trade show, which is taking place from 4 to 6 November 2014 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, situated north of the French capital. Lucibel’s products in the spotlight at LuxLive 2014

Marine Juillard - 23-oct.-2014 16:16:48
Lucibel of France, a major player in the LED lighting sector, will be exhibiting its innovative solutions at the LuxLive trade show, which will take place at the ExCel exhibition centre in London (UK) from 19 to 20 November 2014. Lucibel will present its brand-new-generation LED panel and its new Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) concept designed for use in museums, galleries and showrooms. Lucibel, a specialist in the design and production of innovative lighting solutions based on Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology, will showcase two of its stand-out products at LuxLive 2014. The first is its brand-new-generation LED panel, which provides the best luminosity output to power consumption ratio on the market. This product offers unparalleled energy savings, outperforming similar products, and greatly increases the customer’s ROI. Lucibel will also present its new Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) concept designed for use in museums, galleries and showrooms. For the first time, Lucibel has combined Li-Fi technology with LED lighting to transform existing LED lighting elements into Li-Fi emitters that can then remotely transmit multimedia content (sound, video, geolocation, etc.) to a tablet or smartphone. Using an indoor geolocation application on a tablet device, visitors have direct and automatic access to interactive content corresponding to the object on display. This virtual guide gives traditional visits a whole new dimension, making them more natural and intuitive. Lucibel’s solution is an integral part of the LED lighting element and requires no additional infrastructure or energy consumption. It can be featured in multiple applications, and reflects the company’s ambition to offer more than a simple lighting function, allowing customers to benefit from the many opportunities proposed by LED technology. The multiple advantages of LEDs have made them the preferred technology for new lighting sources. LED lighting efficiency reduces energy consumption by up to 80% compared to traditional technologies, increases operating life by up to 20 times, and can be controlled remotely or programmed to interact with its surroundings. Further advantages of LED technology include its homogenous, flicker-free luminous flux, excellent colour rendering, immediate illumination, lack of sensitivity to on/off switching cycles, and a wide range of integration and customisation possibilities. The company develops and produces the majority of its products in its own factories in France, selecting the best components on the market and ensuring that technical aspects are constantly being improved. Lucibel focuses on the professional market segments in which its solutions contribute maximum added value to the customer, such as hotels and restaurants, offices and industry, public authorities, and retail. As well as guaranteeing technical performance and energy efficiency, Lucibel also designs specific solutions adapted to client specifications and whose benefits go beyond lighting functions alone. Such benefits include incomparable product or site enhancement to boost customer visits and sales activity, a quality of light that improves well-being and productivity of employees, intelligent management of light sources to optimise energy consumption, and new functionalities such as the transmission of wireless data to enrich visitor experience. Lucibel has a dedicated London-based team that works closely with clients on their projects, advising and informing them about relevant applicable standards and undertaking return on investment studies. The team can also carry out studies into lighting, 3D simulations, and thermal dissipation. About Lucibel Lucibel is an innovative French company that designs new-generation lighting products and solutions based on LED technology. In 2013, Lucibel generated a consolidated turnover of €21.5 million, versus €6.3 million in 2012, equating to an 87% increase on a like-for-like basis. The company markets its products in over 30 countries and has seven international subsidiaries across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with exports accounting for 24% of sales in 2013. Lucibel will be exhibiting its products and solutions at the LuxLive trade show, which will take place at the ExCel exhibition centre in London (UK) from 19 to 20 November 2014. The company is working to continue its growth in Europe, in particular on the UK market, and is looking to meet potential partners at the trade show. Visitors are encouraged to visit the stand to discover more about the new LED panels and LiFi experience. French mechanical engineering sector builds itself into a global leader

Marine Juillard - 21-oct.-2014 15:57:19
Véronique Cuziol, project manager at UBIFRANCE, believes that the French mechanical engineering sector showcases the best of French manufacturing. She says: “Not all French industries are in decline. Some sectors, such as the mechanical engineering industry, are successful.” So, what exactly is this stellar industry all about? Mechanical engineering firms are diverse in terms of products and services but, broadly, they service and produce valued-added products for the automobile, aerospace and railway industries. The French mechanical engineering industry has an annual turnover of €113 billion, of which €45.6 billion is exported. These figures rank France sixth worldwide and third within Europe. Overall there are over 50,000 companies in the industry, including a few large players (Air Liquide, Alstom, Areva, and Fives) and a healthy majority of smaller companies: 95% of all firms are SMEs and start-ups.   Besides the USA and China, European markets are the traditional destinations for French exports in this sector. Germany remains by far the biggest importer. Therefore, it is not surprising that a large number of French mechanical engineering companies can be found at the world’s biggest industrial fair in Germany, the Hannover Messe.   French companies, and in particular SMEs, have been exceptionally effective in leveraging the country’s research clusters – some of the best in the world – into innovative solutions. A great example is the Mont Blanc Industries cluster, which specializes in precision machining, mechatronics and other advanced industrial techniques. There is a collective, national interest in creating what is being called the ‘Factory of the Future’; disruptive investments in technologies such as energy efficiency, 3D printing, and advanced robotics that will redefine the future of manufacturing through increased efficiency and reduction in costs.   Some of these French start-ups are making a big splash with innovative products. For example, the company French Expliseat, founded in 2011, produces the ‘Titanium Seat,’ the world’s lightest seat that also offers an innovative and ergonomic design. Expliseat has recently received certification from the Federal American Aviation Administration (FAA) and is therefore able to supply the US aircraft industry.   Another example of a successful subsector is textile machinery manufacturing. French firms offer extremely targeted and innovative products as well as excellent customer service and a highly skilled workforce.   The top 100 French subcontracting companies include a number of large businesses such as the LISI Group, which has a turnover of over €1 billion. There are also a myriad of smaller, but nevertheless very ambitious, companies such as Manoir Industries which specialises in metal forging and found. Its objective is to become a world leader in the production of metals for the construction, nuclear, oil and gas, and petro-chemistry sectors.   It must not be overlooked that France is one of the most attractive countries in Europe in terms of foreign investments, ranking fourth in the world in terms of industrial FDI. This is no surprise give that foreign investors have access to the second biggest economy in Europe, third highest hourly labour productivity, excellent infrastructure, and a central geographic position. Furthermore, France ranks second in Europe for the number of patent applications, with one in ten of these patents being the result of collaboration between French and foreign companies.   UBIFRANCE, the French export-support agency , has 80 offices around the world. Its role is to help French companies in marketing their products abroad, as well assist foreign companies in finding French suppliers or partners.   More information about French companies, please go to: French exporters directory of mechanical engineering
