« Elle », the French fashion label enters India through a "Licensee" Elle (Groupe Lagardère Active) , the French ready-to-wear & fashion accessories brand for women has signed a Franchise agreement with Arvind Lifestyle Brands , a leading Indian ready-to-wear brand. According to Mr. J. Suresh, Director of Arvind Brands, "The Indian market for western ready-to-wear for women is booming. By introducing " Elle " an international upmarket brand our company has an early bird advantage in the Indian market." The first Elle brand stores are planned in Delhi, Bangalore and Chandigarh in April 2012. The project is to open stores in the malls, high-streets and shop-in-shops in department stores in India. Arvind Brands already represents international brands like Arrow, Izod, Gant, Polo US. FRENCH OPTICAL COMPANIES IN INDIA

French Trade Commission in India, in collaboration with GIFO – French National Federation of Eyewear industry - and Essilor India, organized from 22nd to 29th November 2011 a roadshow for six French high-end optical companies at New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. During the roadshow the participating French companies - Vuillet Vega, Elce, Gold & Wood, Lafont, Oxibis (Exalto, Dilem) and Grosfilley – had B2B meetings with 40 Indian opticians, members of Club Platine Optic . At present Club Platine Optic regroups 60 opticians with around 300 retail stores all over India. The event was very successful - the French & Indian companies were very satisfied of their participation. During their visit the French companies took out some time to visit optical stores in these cities. They also had a chance to meet the Bollywood star Salman Khan.
